How Quantum Will Kill Encryption

Quantum Computing = the Death of Encryption
This week CSO reported on Chinese researchers breaking RSA encryption with a quantum computer.
The research team found that D-Wave’s quantum computers can optimize problem-solving in a way that makes it possible to attack encryption methods such as RSA. This led readers of CSO to ask Smart Answers if encryption will no longer be a viable way of securing files in a quantum computing world. The answer? Quantum will kill encryption, but it is going to take years to get there.
Find out: How close are we to breaking encryption with quantum computing?

Taking Tokens
This week CSO also reported on an alleged Cisco data breach that could affect Microsoft, Barclays, and SAP developer data. A BreachForum post made by IntelBroker claimed that the source code was taken from these Cisco customers in the breach.
This caused CSO readers to ask about the impact on companies of stolen API tokens and source code. The bad news is that stolen API tokens and source code pose significant risks to companies. They can be used to launch AI-specific attacks, including data poisoning, model skewing, model reverse-engineering, and model poisoning, as well as AI supply-chain compromises. Strap in, CISOs.

In the piece the storied IT exec discusses how his workforce strategy is central to IT strategy and how career mobility within an organization fosters diversity of thought and enlivens colleagues to have an impact
