Part 2 of our ongoing series looks into how nursing leaders across the country develop protocols for preventing violence to nurses and how they should react when something does happen.
Monday, July 15, 2024

Last year, eight out of every 10 nurses surveyed reported experiencing at least one type of workplace violence.

That sobering statistic should be cause enough for every CNO to take a good, hard look at how they're supporting nurse safety. They should have a strategy in place that includes training, partnerships with health system security departments, and risk assessments for any and every potentially dangerous encounter.

In this week's lead story, part 2 of an ongoing series, top CNOs explain what goes into their efforts to ensure nurse safety, from prevention to policy to proper support after an incident.
