Good afternoon,

Apple’s latest software update might be small in name, but it’s big in significance.

The US tech giant’s long-awaited entry into generative AI is here and it looks like the ability to rewrite text, summarise notifications and emails, clean up photos and more. Oh, and Siri’s got a new glow — literally... but don’t expect those new colours to make her suddenly smarter.

Almost one-third of Australian lawyers are using “bring-your-own” artificial intelligence tools to work, increasing the risk of Medibank-style data breaches and “other unintended consequences”, a study has revealed.

One of Australia’s hottest start-ups – SafetyCulture – has slashed its annual loss and sets its sights on becoming the next Canva or Atlassian as it introduces more artificial intelligence features into its products.

The Australian's annual tech magazine, The List Top 100 Innovators, celebrating the nation's most innovative entrepreneurs was unveiled on October 18. Find out who's building the future in The List  online at  theaustralian.com.au.
