"If the company is 'on,' it's very hard, particularly in this environment, for someone to disconnect," says Bumble President Tariq Shaukat, who closed both Bumble and Badoo for five days in June.

About the Editor
Kanoe Namahoe

I live in California but, for me, home is Hawaii and come this fall, I’m heading there for some much, MUCH needed R&R. Malasadas from Komoda’s in Makawao. Hiking ‘Iao Valley. Shave ice and giggles with my niece. Hunting for treasures at the swap meet.

Disconnecting is always hard but necessary, as we see in today’s top story. We know we need to do it but worrying thoughts (“Did I get back to that speaker? Did I turn in that timeline?”) can nag at us. I’m determined not to let it happen. I’m going to fill a cooler with drinks, musubi and snacks and hunker down with my sisters to watch the sunset at Ko’olina.

Where do you get refreshed? Let me know! And if you enjoy this brief, tell others so they can benefit also.
