Good evening,

Good evening,

Well, M&A Monday hit us all right between the eyes.

In the biggest day for deals in Australia, Afterpay revealed an agreed $39 billion all-scrip bid from America’s Square, while Oil Search and Santos put aside their differences and inked a $22 billion merger agreement. We’ve had a look at how both deals came together.

In Street Talk tomorrow, we reveal the Hawaii meetings that kicked off Project Pocket, and paved the way for what would be Australia’s biggest ever takeover.

And with Americans shopping for Australian-founded tech businesses, we have a look at who bankers and money managers also think could be in their sights.

Finally, we head back into the world of hard assets and motorways, and check into Transurban’s plans for WestConnex.

Happy reading,
