INDUSTRY NEWS

LOS ANGELES: The Hammer Museum is spotlighting emerging and under-recognized LA artists with its Made in L.A. exhibition. The museum has been closed due to COVID-19 restrictions and will reopen after a year on April 17. The exhibit will feature the works of 30 artists that will be shown at both The Hammer and The Huntington spaces.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: The SOBE Wine and Food Festival will take place May 20-21. The event, which features partnerships from the Food Network, the Cooking Channel, Florida International University and other major organizations, will feature some of the biggest celebrity chefs and personalities in the culinary industry. The festival includes a variety of signature meals, intimate dinners, wine tastings and more. 

NEW YORK: The New York International Auto Show will return in August 2021 after being canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic. The show will take place Aug. 20-29 and will be held at the newly renovated Javits Center. 

SEATTLE: Tim Schmanski is the new vice president of product and alliances at Eventcore, a Seattle-based technical solution for event registration and virtual gatherings. Schmanski brings over 25 years of experience in the event technology industry. 

WASHINGTON, DC: Washington, D.C. will host Jazz Appreciation Month with the National Museum of American History for the month of April. Throughout the month, the museum will celebrate the sound, style and stimulations of jazz, and will focus on educating people on the contributions women make to the industry. Nina Simone is 2021’s featured artist, and guests will be able to learn more about her career in jazz music.
