Plus advice if you've hit a pandemic wall.

Anyone else feel like they're hitting a wall? These last few weeks of the pandemic have arguably been some of the hardest so far. Our mental health is in the gutter but we're expected to keep pushing on as if it's not. It's exhausting and, frankly, traumatizing.
You're not alone if you're feeling this way. This week, reporter Julia Ries wrote about how we've all reached a breaking point lately. Her story was incredibly validating and offers some advice if you're struggling.
The most important lesson? Be compassionate with yourself. It's normal to feel this way. We all deserve credit for navigating this hell. Eventually we'll get through to the other side.

Got a spare minute? Use it to change your life. Our "A Minute And Change" series will help you become happier, healthier and more productive by doing one thing a little differently. This week's tip comes from Lauren Donelson, a writer and yoga teacher, on how to set up a self-care practice that works for you:
Write down a list of things that feel restorative. It could be taking a walk outside, petting your dog, meditating, baking, drawing, organizing your closet, listening to a podcast or anything else you enjoy that alleviates stress. Save it in your phone or wherever is easily accessible. Ideally, you would make this list on a day when you’re feeling pretty good, so that when you feel burnt out — which happens to everyone — you don’t have to then think of self-care activities. |
