It’s always disappointing when an entire day of a Grand Prix weekend is wiped out by bad weather, but the FIA didn’t have much chance to allow F1 cars to drive at the Nurburgring on Friday. The good news is that the forecast is much better for Saturday; the bad news is that Eifel Grand Prix raceday could be just as bad as today was. Yikes! The FIA is right to think on its feet and come up with contingency plan so if the worst was to happen – ie: a terrible accident that threatened life and limb – then there’s a sensible plan in place to ensure transfer to hospital as soon as possible. But everyone wants a race to happen, it’s what they’re all here for. Charles Bradley, Global Editor in Chief Motorsport.com |

The FIA will alter its contingency plan to avoid repeating Friday's lost Formula 1 running at the Nurburgring for the rest of the Eifel Grand Prix weekend, Motorsport.com understands. |
