How the real estate market did in 2024

BY ADAM DAIGLE | Acadiana business editor

Since 2019 I've these year-end analysis pieces on the Acadiana real estate market. This year's story, which ran Sunday, was probably the most unforseen.

Yes, there's been a steady flow of headlines locally and across the country about the high prices of homeownersip and higher interest rates. All true, but builders wiggled through all of that to have a banner year in Lafayette Parish and Acadiana last year.

It was one of the building-est year on record, outpacing all but one of those COVID years when interest rates fell to historic lows.

You can check out the why in my story here.

Have a great day and thanks for reading.
