Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Wednesday, November 23, 2022. The drumbeat was getting pretty loud for Dennis Allen to make a change at quarterback. But Andy Dalton's career-best performance against the Los Angeles Rams validated Allen's decision to stick with the veteran signal caller. In our weekly Saints re-watch analysis, beat reporter Luke Johnson explains how Dalton, aka the Red Rifle, had a hair trigger in the big win and what that meant for the Saints offense. In other news Tuesday, the Saints' Week 15 game against the Atlanta Falcons will be played on Saturday, Dec. 17, sources told beat reporter Terrin Waack. The date of the game has been "To Be Determined" on the NFL schedule since it was released in May. The kickoff time and broadcast network have not been confirmed. Also, former Saints standout Jahri Evans made it through the first cut in the voting process for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2023. Evans was one of 28 semifinalists announced by Hall officials on Tuesday and is the first member of the Saints' 2009 Super Bowl team to be considered for induction. That's it for today. We'll have much more coverage on Wednesday as the Saints begin preparations for their game against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in Santa Clara, Calif. Thanks, as always, for your loyal readership and support. Cheers. Until next time, Jeff Duncan |
