NEWS OF THE STRANGE
How did all those birds end up in their house? Image Source: UPI After a getaway, a California couple returned home to find their home had been invaded by hundreds of birds.
As they were returning from a trip to Sacramento, Gary and Patti Reitemeyer discovered hundreds of swallows that had presumably flown into the house.
A neighbor who went by to feed their cat roughly 14 hours before they arrived home reported seeing around 20 birds in the house, according to the Reitemeyers.
In their 30 years of living in the house, the couple stated that nothing like this incident had happened before.
So how did the birds get into the house to begin with?

Halo Infinite developers are finally admitting that they botched the season 2 rollout Image Source: 343 Industries The second season of Halo Infinite, which was intended to be a much-needed phoenix, is off to a shaky start. The developer has recognized the flaws three days after the launch, vowing to "explore possibilities."

TIRED OF OFFICE POLITICS?
How did this candidate behind bars win a primary election? Image Source: Boone County Indiana Sheriff's Office I know that there are a lot of jokes about all politicians being criminals, but perhaps this instance is taking things a bit too far.
Andrew Wilhoite is accused of murdering his cancer-stricken wife and is currently sitting in jail. But somehow he still won a township board primary election despite that fact.
He’s been sitting in the Boone County Jail since he admitted to investigators that he threw a flower pot at his wife’s head and then dumped her body over the side of a bridge. He’s next due to appear in court on the charges later this month on May 27.
“Under our legal system, every person is innocent until proven guilty,” said Brad King, co-director of the Indiana Election Division. “If a candidate is ultimately convicted, then depending upon the timing of that conviction, the person can be replaced on the ballot by the political party that has a vacancy.”

High inflation may prompt people to change their summer vacation plans Image Source: NBC Summer vacation plans could be in flux this year. It's not because of the pandemic this time. Instead, rising inflationary prices may cause potential travelers to change their plans.
According to a survey conducted by Bankrate.com, 69 % of Americans planning a vacation this summer expect to change their plans since costs have risen to record highs.
Taking fewer trips and flying shorter distances are among the top changes people stated they might make. Even so, not everyone is planning a vacation this summer.

Lenovo's new slim laptops are making a serious run at the competition Image Source: Florence Ion Move over, Dell and Apple: Lenovo has a new line of laptops, and it’s giving the company’s major competitors a run for their money.
The new line of “Slim” laptops has a sleek design, powerful specs, and high-resolution displays that will make anyone second-guess a Dell XPS or Apple MacBook Air purchase. There are a ton of Lenovo Slim series laptops to choose from, including the 9i, 7, 7i, 7 Pro X, 7i Pro X, and 7i Carbon.
While each option has its own unique features, pros, and cons, there are a few similarities across the board. For starters, they are all relatively lightweight and portable, hence the “Slim” designation. They also all have competitive pricing (compared to each model’s main competition), with the base model starting at $1,199, while the higher-end model is expected to debut at $1,799.
