Fighting homelessness: The city is moving forward with its new initiative to eliminate homelessness in New Orleans, with service providers placing people living on the street into subsidized apartments. Homelessness has surged by more than 50% since last year and the city is trying to empty the encampments that have cropped up under local overpasses and other areas. Sophie Kasakove has the story.
Entergy to offload gas unit: Entergy Corp. is selling its natural gas distribution business to a Baton Rouge-based firm for $484 million to help pay down debt. The deal will mean a new gas provider for tens of thousands of Louisiana homeowners, as Sam Karlin and Robert Stewart report.
