I’m very lucky and grateful to be surrounded by friends, clients, and team members who are inspiring fathers.
These men remain steadfast in the face of adversity.
And on top of being providers, protectors, and teachers…
They continue to be the rock for their family through challenging times.
Dealing with sick kids, family emergencies, and the weight of being a great husband and father ALL while running a business or working a full time job (or both).
One of these men is ETR’s Head Coach, Daniel Woodrum.
A client recently reached out asking how to juggle the responsibilities of being a “Super Dad” entrepreneur…
And Coach Daniel shared the following game changing advice:
*****
From a fellow father with 3 young kids (5, 3, and 10 months) I can understand what you are going through.
Parenting is the hardest, yet most rewarding thing in the world.
I'm always cautious of giving out parenting advice as everyone is very different.
But what I can share is what has worked for my wife and I in terms of managing the chaos, restless nights, and demands of parenting.
It all comes down to communication and teamwork.
My wife and I spend each Sunday looking at the upcoming weekly schedule.
We determine who does the kid morning routine, who is taking the kids to school, picking kids up, nighttime routine, etc.
We are crystal clear at the end of that "meeting" each Sunday on who is responsible for what, and how we will work together.
Of course, as you know unexpected things will come up (like this week our daughter has RSV and ear infection) which completely has turned our schedule and sleep upside down.
How have we managed that?
We've alternated nights on who will stay up with our daughter as she can only sleep right now on our chest propped up on the couch.
This way we both aren't tired the next day as that makes for the ultimate nightmare.
This type of communication, planning and teamwork will solve a lot of your time management problems.
Sit down with your spouse this week (schedule it!) and get on the same page, creating more structure and how you both can create more cohesiveness with each other in terms of managing everything.
Hope this helps some.
I've been in your exact shoes in terms of feeling completely overwhelmed.
The #1 thing that turned it around is exactly what I’ve laid out in this email.

Thanks Daniel!
Wise advice indeed.
Like Daniel said, everyone is different and you will have your own unique challenges to deal with.
But I’d be willing to bet that some extra communication and teamwork would help you manage your schedule more effectively as a business owner and parent.
Where can you and your partner plan better?
How can you divide and conquer?
I challenge you to take Daniel’s advice and start scheduling a weekly “meeting” with your partner to coordinate these details.
Success Loves Speed,
Craig
