Child care costs an average of almost $8,700 annually, with single parents spending 36% of income and married parents spending 10% of income, according to a report by Child Care Aware of America. While at least 50% of companies provide benefits to offset costs, only 7% of companies offer child care on-site or nearby, according to a study by the Society for Human Resource Management.
