Report: LinkedIn user base expected to grow at healthy clip
EMarketer is estimating US adult LinkedIn users will increase 4.2% next year to reach 64.7 million and 68.8 million by 2023. LinkedIn growth is slower than counterparts such as Facebook and Instagram, but innovative services such as LinkedIn Live and Events "can be differentiators for maintaining current users and attracting new ones," says eMarketer analyst Jillian Ryan.

Employers should be measuring the quality of hires
Measuring quality of hires is key for saving money on recruitment and boosting productivity and morale, according to a new survey by JazzHR, although only 64% of respondents said they do measure quality of hire. The Landscape
HR manager says advertising industry "too unstable"
An advertising HR manager talks about the talent crisis, which has shifted toward freelance careers for healthier work-life balance and for instability due to the increase of project-based work. "Money, employees and new work rolls in like waves on a beach, and then money, employees and that work roll out," the executive says, adding, "It's too unstable. There's no business model."

More businesses are paying attention to employee experience
More and more employees are looking for tech experiences in the work place that help them feel more connected to colleagues and companies, according to Josh Bersin. "Companies that figure out how to make their employees' experience as delightful as their customers' experience will have a competitive advantage," says Mercer's Lauren Mason.

Balancing Yourself
A break from alcohol can benefit mental, physical health
Breaking a drinking habit, even temporarily, has positive effects on mental and physical health, and people can start by reflecting on why they drink alcohol and how they consume, says licensed clinical social worker Rachel Kazez. People can also consider their mood and anxiety when they have a craving to figure out what they actually want at that moment, she says.

New research suggests adopting a kind and warm demeanor might help you live longer, and while there are a lot of caveats, choosing kindness might be worth a shot. You never know -- the worst-case scenario is more people will like you while you are alive.
