Dixon County, Neb.

Walked out in my best field today. Corn looks good. Stalks not fired much but the ears are just dented and about 1 out of 5 are broke. Over 98-deg for next 4 days, with 20-mile-per-hour wind. By the end of that they, will all be dropped. Barely hung on all year and this will pretty much destroy any potential. If we would not have had all the heat, we would had something. Maybe next year, if I am still in business. No hope for the beans. They turned white now, their yellow dropping leaves were not many pods to begin with.
