INDUSTRY NEWS

CHICAGO: From Aug. 10-14, Hilton Hotels of Chicago: Palmer House, Hilton Chicago, and The Drake are partnering with nonprofit organization Camp Kids Are Kids to create a virtual version of the annual urban summer camp for children living with cancer. The virtual camp gives children ages 7 to 17 a  summer camp experience from their home or hospital bed, including counselor-led sessions, "camp bags" filled with supplies, a zoo tour hosted by Lincoln Park Zoo, and more. When enrolling, parents will be entered into a giveaway to win a complimentary overnight stay in a Hilton Chicago suite in summer 2021.

LOS ANGELES: The Live Events Coalition will host an activation on Aug. 12 at Xbox Plaza in L.A. Intended to highlight out-of-work event professionals, the activation will feature empty tables spelling out the words "one voice," an empty red carpet set, a lighting installation, and more.

MAUI, HAWAII: MC&A, a United States destination management company, hosted its first "Social Spacing" event on July 8 to honor some of Maui's first responders. The event was held at Sugar Beach Estate and was carefully developed with safety protocols in place to show how events can work moving forward. Some precautions taken included temperature checks upon arrival, social distancing decor, plexiglass dividers, linen-less tables, and more.

NEW YORK: MSG Entertainment has canceled the 2020 production of Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tickets are currently on sale for the 2021 event.
