NATIONAL: Digital Media Wire's 18th annual Future of Television Conference will be held virtually from Nov. 10-12. The three-day event will discuss the rise of streaming plus influencer marketing, sports, and various other elements of entertainment, with speakers from the likes of ViacomCBS, Tubi, Starz, and ICM Partners.

ATLANTA: Hospitality veteran Derrick Morrow has been named vice president and general manager of Hyatt Regency Atlanta. The historic hotel reopened on July 1 after closing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

DENVER: MJBizCon, billed as the world's largest cannabis business conference, will be completely virtual with various sessions and networking opportunities starting Nov. 2, while the main event will take place Dec. 2-4. The gathering will feature more than 60 cannabis-related sessions and offer new products plus private one-on-one meetings and consultations.

LOS ANGELES: On Oct. 18, The James Beard Foundation is hosting a virtual dining event for Taste of America: Los Angeles to support local restaurants. The event will spotlight historic Mexican restaurant Guelaguetza, and showcase Oaxacan ingredients and family recipes. For $150, tickets will include a three-course meal prepared by JBF Award winners Bricia Lopez and Edgar Santiago, plus a meal kit with dough wine and Rabbit Hole whiskey.

NEW YORK: Happy Creative Dig, a Brooklyn-based organization that helps support nonprofits through creative workshops, is hosting virtual activities throughout the month of October with 20% of proceeds donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. "Build A Boob," a cap embroidery workshop held via Zoom, will kick off the month by teaching participants to embroider their own "nip slip" caps.
