The country is in the middle of an opioid epidemic—that fact is indisputable. However, it’s much less clear who is responsible for creating the crisis and how we can all work to overcome it. To better understand where the crisis came from and where it could be going, perhaps it’s best to look at how people are obtaining opioids legally: through their physicians.
