Trust me, this cake is easier than it looks.
Make this cake in a 9x13-inch pan, a simple layer cake, and then cut it laterally to make two layers.
Spread whipped cream frosting between the layers along with a layer of thinly sliced strawberries. (The strawberries are easier and quicker to slice with a strawberry slicer.)
We piped frosting diagonally across the cake but you can simply spread it. That's a dusting of chopped nuts on top.
