Shortly before my debut YA novel was published in 2016, I spoke to a local writer's group about my path to publication. Year by year, I recounted the numerous ups and downs of my lengthy journey. | I fell in love with The Beatles when I was a boy. I loved every song on every album, except one song: "Paperback Writer."
