Tips and techniques to engage and inform your distracted virtual audience

You’ve seen the videos. The giant head half in the frame. The person rattling on while on mute. The vacant looks from audience members who are obviously answering emails (or shopping online) instead of paying attention.

Six months into the global pandemic and with so many of us working from home, it’s high time we all brushed up on our virtual presentation skills.

One thing is certain: Presenting virtually just isn’t the same. You can’t go as long, your slides have to be more dynamic, and you have to inject more energy into your presentation, using your voice and body language.

We asked Joe Friedman, RCG’s presentation expert, to create a new workshop that can help us be more effective in this virtual, not-very-normal world. And of course, Joe will teach this workshop for you and as many team members as you like, virtually.

How to put more vigor into your virtual presentations:
Tips and techniques to engage and inform your distracted virtual audience

In this 90-minute workshop, Joe will show you how to:

  • Ask and answer key questions to put yourself in your audience’s shoes. (Without these, your efforts to persuade or inform will fall short.)
  • Use the right virtual meetings etiquette for maximum impact. (When should you turn your camera on or off? Do I need to alter my slide deck based on the meeting platform?)
  • Master the four audible skills of volume, speed, animation and limiting non-words.
  • Use the “7 Ps” to control your nervousness before a speech.
  • Organize content to maximize persuasiveness.
  • Strike the right balance between text and visuals on slides.
  • Prepare for the challenges of virtual delivery through interactivity and planning to “control” the virtual room.
  • Manage the Q&A environment to ensure that your answers support your presentation effectiveness rather than unwind the credibility you’ve built.

It all starts with a conversation. To find out more, email Kristin Hart at Kristin.hart@raganconsulting.com, to set up a complementary call with Joe to design the program that works best for you.

All the best,
