Paint colors selection significantly affects a home's value. Red, lime green and bright yellow can be particularly off-putting to buyers. "Most buyers can't look beyond very taste-specific colors, which is one of the reasons [agents] put such an emphasis on staging. That often includes having rooms painted," says Frank D. Isoldi, a New Jersey-based real estate professional with Coldwell Banker Realty.
