Viewing a resume as a story rather than an encyclopedia and remembering to submit all requested information when applying for a job can make consideration more likely, Colleen Cook, a marketing executive who handles hiring, writes in this commentary. Cook also notes that, to escape career silos, job seekers can consider how their skills are transferable to other positions.

Whether you're feeling burned out or just a little singed, some ways to cope include exercise, in-person connections with vaccinated friends, journaling and helping others, writes Scott Eblin. "One of the primary antidotes to burnout is to shift your perspective from the micro annoyances that are right in front of you to the bigger picture perspective and how you fit into it," he writes.

A record 8.1 million job openings were vacant in March, up 600,000 from February, with around 1.4 workers available per job -- half the average over the past two decades, according to a report from the Chamber of Commerce. Sen. Tammy Duckworth, D-Ill., has introduced the National Guard and Reserve Incentive Pay Parity Act, legislation that would require the military to compensate Guard and Reserve members in skilled roles at the same rate as active duty counterparts. "Every member of the National Guard and Reserve, whether active or reserve duty, deserves to be fairly compensated for mission-essential skills and work," said Duckworth.

Researchers say the size of a person's pupils is related to their intelligence, with smarter people having larger pupils. The relationship between intelligence and pupil size was originally uncovered during a study looking at the mental effort required for memory tasks, but more research is needed to understand the association between pupil and brain power.

Fifteen elephants in China have trekked about 300 miles along roads and across fields and are now on the edge of the city of Kunming, which is home to 8 million people. Experts aren't sure why the elephants are on the march, nor where they are headed.
