The workplace goes digital with virtual reality training

We've all had those uncomfortable situations at work. Maybe it's a disagreement with a coworker or a tricky customer interaction — or even firing a long-time employee. Don't you wish you could practice? Thanks to VR, AR and AI developer Talespin, you can. Kim chats with Talespin CEO and co-founder Kyle Jackson about how the company is bringing workplace training to the digital age with its virtual human simulations.

Need a new printer for my small business

Q: I need a new printer. We have a small business so I also make, I would say, a medium amount of copies for that. I want to print great pics for framing and business copies without always troubleshooting and buying ink. I have stopped making copies and send what I need printed to my husband's office.

A: I feel your pain! I've had my share of bad printers. Good ones, too! My favorite is the Epson EcoTank. You don't have to ration out your printing because this one has easy-to-fill tanks instead of expensive cartridges. Love that. I've never had a problem with mine, and I have one at home and work. I even bought my son, Ian, one. All the models copy and scan, too.

Add the Epson EcoTank to your online shopping list at Amazon, Dell, MicroCenter or epsonecotank.com/kim.

How much internet do I need?

Q: I am thinking about getting SimpliSafe for my home but do not have unlimited internet. If I get this system, along with a few cameras, how much data will I be using up on a monthly basis before my general use? And will it slow down my computer or smart television?

A: SimpliSafe cameras record only when triggered. Different events have different recording times, and the data used also depends on video quality. Here's an example. Say you had a break-in that lasted 5 minutes. With the default quality (720p), that recording would typically be about 30 MB. You'd need to have several full alarms every single day for a month to reach a gigabyte of data. Allow about 10 MB a day per camera.

All the other components run on cellular that's included with the monthly monitoring bill.

Visit SimpliSafeKim.com to get a free HD security camera, with free shipping and a 60-day, money-back guarantee.

Do I need ExpressVPN on my phone, too?

Q: Do I need a VPN on my phone? I use ExpressVPN on my computer.

A: Short answer: Yes! Longer answer: You should use a VPN everywhere you can. It adds a layer of protection between you and anyone looking to get their (digital) hands on your data. With ExpressVPN, you can use a single subscription simultaneously on five different devices, and you can install the app on as many devices as you want.

The more you do on your phone, the more important it is. If you're banking, messaging and all the rest, yes, definitely download it to your phone, too.

Try ExpressVPN free for 30 days, and get 3 months free when you sign up for a year at ExpressVPN.com/Kim.
