Beware of ‘Annual Report’ Email Scam
Another suspicious email is being deployed to REALTORS®, this time referencing the National Association of REALTORS®’ annual report. It follows an incident earlier this week in which a scam email was sent to some members, purportedly from “REALTOR® Party via DocuSign.” The subject line of the latest email reads: “ANNUAL REPORT TO ALL MEMBERS OF NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTOR (NAR).” The sender’s email address is presiidentceo(at)usa.com. NAR leaders warn recipients not to click on any links in the email, and they note that official association emails will only come from a realtors.org or realtor.org address. Such emails also will include proper branding, messaging, contact information, and opt-out provisions. NAR says it has reached out to its domain provider to report this issue.
