To save your eyes from strain while you watch YouTube videos, try switching your theme to Dark: 

• Tap your profile picture/icon and go to Settings > Appearance.
• Here, you can choose from displaying YouTube with a Dark or Light theme, or you can allow YouTube to adjust the theme to your device’s default. 

Here’s a nice bonus: Dark mode may make it easier to spot problems with your monitor. That’s right — learn more about dead pixels and how to fix them here.
