Good morning,

🌀 Hurricane Ian weakens to a tropical storm but brings widespread flooding. Several Minnesotans flee Florida while others prepare to help people recover.

Closer to home: If you turned your heat on already, get ready to open up those windows. Temperatures will be warmer yet on Thursday and we’ll see 70s become more widespread across southern and western Minnesota Friday. Get the latest on Updraft.
Are you a college student in Minnesota? Here's how to vote in Nov. 8 elections
Attending college often means packing up and moving to a new place for the first time. The majority of college students are able to vote, but some may be wondering how to cast their vote in the upcoming Nov. 8 midterm election.

College students often have more than one address — the address of their college dorm or apartment, and the address of their permanent residence (this is often a parent’s or guardian’s home). But individuals can only vote from one address, meaning students need to choose which one they will use to place their vote.
Art Hounds: Visual art show celebrates athleticism ahead of Twin Cities Marathon
If you add up the artists featured in studio art tours this weekend alone — 40 in the Meander Art Crawl, plus over 30 in the Fargo-Moorhead Visual Arts Studio Crawl — you get a glimpse of the tremendous wealth of creative talent Minnesota has to offer. Plus, “Journey to Rock Bottom” in Burnsville by artist Annie Young celebrates marathoners who raced in Antarctica.

What else we're watching:
Voter guide: See Minnesota Attorney General candidates' stances. Republican challenger Jim Schultz says crime is the main issue in the race for Minnesota Attorney General. DFL incumbent Keith Ellison disagrees, citing abortion rights and gun control.

Lizzo played James Madison's crystal flute onstage in D.C., proving history rocks. Some people visit Washington, D.C., for the tourist attractions, like monuments and museums. They probably don't expect to see history being made at a pop concert — but that's what happened to an arena full of fans at Lizzo's concert Tuesday night.

More options for people with hearing loss. MPR News host Angela Davis talked with an audiologist and a researcher about how the ruling could make hearing aids less expensive and more accessible. Plus, changes in hearing aid technology and how to make the most of them.

Vikings player Blake Proehl moonlights on TikTok. In 2021, Blake Proehl was the Minnesota Vikings’ most promising free agent. He landed a 150,000 contract. He did well in training camp. But a devastating knee injury put him on the sidelines for now. And he has since gone viral for a new talent — music. He talks with guest host Tim Nelson about his unexpected turn to music.
