Hello,

Thank you for the kind words last week in regards to my divorce announcement. I just finished reading through them, and I’m so grateful for your prayers, thoughts, and encouragements. If you missed this personal update, you can go read it here.

That said, I have a few writing-related things to share with you on this lovely Monday.

First up, my most popular book is only $1 this week along with several other great titles on the craft. Grab it on Kindle here. Check out all the discount writing books here.

Second, is 2020 a good year to write a book? Absolutely. That is, if you do it the right way. Here are a few tips from my writing desk to yours:

  1. Don’t try to write a book about the pandemic yet. Give yourself time to process an experience before trying to make meaning out of it. Trust me on this. This is something I’ve learned about challenging situations—you need time to understand what this means to you and by no means is any of us an expert at this yet.
  2. Give yourself grace and ignore all the “productivity porn” that’s being thrown around lately. You don’t need to hustle harder. You don’t need to shame yourself into feeling bad for merely surviving this year. That’s craziness. That said, maybe it’s time for you to do the thing you promised yourself that you were going to do this year. I just sent my kids back to school, and that feeling of relief that comes with a newfound sense of freedom has arrived. It feels like a second New Year. Maybe it’s time for some new resolutions.
  3. Start with intention. Telling you to “just write” would be doing a disservice to the immense challenge it is to write a book. This is hard work. Which is why most people say they want to do it and don’t. The way to be different is to begin with a big idea, follow a proven structure (i.e. borrow it from another book), and bake the marketing in the book. To learn more about how I do this, I’ve got something special for you...

This week, I’m hosting a couple of live trainings around how to write a bestseller—that is, my way of helping people write books people will want to read and that will practically sell themselves. This is less guesswork than some would have you believe.

I’m writing twelve books (yes, twelve) this year, and this is the process I will follow for each of them.

If you want to learn how I do it, click one of the links below to register (you’ll be automatically registered, so only click on the one you want to attend):

Oh and in case you have a few questions about the training, here are a few of the most common ones:

If you have any other questions, hit reply to this email, and let me know (you’ll get an automated reply just to let you know my team received the email, and we will be in touch).

See you soon!

Thanks,

Jeff

P.S. Spots are limited for this week’s two live trainings, so make sure you grab your spot. If we fill up, we may need to do more; but for now, this is all I plan to do. So don’t miss it! Click one of the links below to register:
