Two Baton Rouge schools win national acclaim

Top honors: Mayfair Lab School, which opened in 2013 and St. Aloysius Catholic School have been named National Blue Ribbon Schools, the nation's highest school honor.

Stop gap: Flood insurance was extended and the depleted disaster relief fund was addressed in the short-term spending proposal congressional leaders agreed upon Sunday night to avert a government shutdown of many federal agencies next week.
