FORT PIERCE, FLA: Indian River State College (IRSC) has partnered with production company AAG Live to offer a new Event & Venue Management Certification, part of the IRSC Associate Degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management. The specialized curriculum—26 consecutive days of hands-on learning and classroom instruction—is designed to mirror the intensity of a standard live event and entertainment schedule. LOS ANGELES: The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board announced that it will be the first Sharecare VERIFIED destination in the U.S., through an initiative developed by Sharecare and Forbes Travel Guide. The comprehensive verification says that all L.A. hotels with more than 50 rooms have appropriate safety procedures in place, covering over 360 standards across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience and health safety communication with guests and employees. MANCHESTER, TENN: Bonnaroo Music Festival has announced the lineup for the 2021 festival, which is slated to take place from Sept. 2-5. Headliners include Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion and Lizzo. NEW YORK: The Council of Fashion Designers of America has announced that New York Fashion Week is planning to return in person from Sept. 8-12, ending with a scaled-down version of the Met Gala on Sept. 13.
