Administrator Johnson Testifies on HRSA Programs

HRSA Administrator Carole Johnson Testifying

Yesterday, Administrator Johnson testified before the House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Health about three vital HRSA programs. The Administrator spoke to the need to extend mandatory funding for the Health Center Program, the National Health Service Corps, and the Teaching Health Center Graduate Medical Education Program before the end of the fiscal year, as well as highlighted HRSAs FY 24 Budget proposals. National Minority Health Month

Health Resources and Services Administrations Office of Health Equity is hosting the National Minority Health Month: Better Health Through Better Understanding hybrid observance on Tuesday, April 25, 1- 2 p.m. ET. This years theme highlights the importance of improving health outcomes for racial and ethnic minority communities through culturally and linguistically competent healthcare, information, and resources. Limited, on-site seating is available for pre-registered federal staff.

Maternal Mental Health Among Asian American & Pacific Islander Communities

To recognize Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and Maternal Mental Health Month, HRSAs Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs is hosting a webinar on maternal mental health among AAPI communities on Thursday, May 4, 3 p.m. ET. Join us to hear about current research and resources for maternal mental health among AAPI communities and learn how HRSA-supported Asian Health Services in Oakland, CA is addressing maternal mental health among its AAPI population.

New Funding Opportunity to Improve Child and Adolescent Behavioral Healthin Rural Communities

HRSA is now accepting applications for the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health. Approximately $9 million is available to increase the number of children and adolescents in rural areas who can receive behavioral health care and supportive services to prevent substance misuse in adulthood.
