White House Mother’s Day Celebration and Anniversary of Maternal Mental Health Hotline

On Monday, May 13, Administrator Johnson moderated a maternal health panel at a White House Mother’s Day Celebration with advocates from Room to Grow.

Panelists included Room to Grow founding board member, Uma Thurman, and people who have benefited from maternal support services in the community.

The event featured speakers who touched on important Biden-Harris policy priorities that support mothers and working families.

Mother’s Day also marked the second anniversary of HRSA’s National Maternal Mental Health Hotline. Administrator Johnson spoke with news outlets across the country about the impact of the Hotline.

Maternal Mental Health Task Force’s National Strategy to Improve Maternal Mental Health Care

On Tuesday, May 14, Administrator Johnson joined leaders from across the Department of Health and Human Services to announce the release of a national strategy developed by the Task Force on Maternal Mental Health.

This effort is part of broader federal efforts to address maternal mental health across the nation, such as HRSA’s Screening and Treatment for Maternal Mental Health and Substance Use Disorders Program.

HRSA Awards $15 Million for Early Hearing Detection and Intervention Programs

Our Early Hearing and Detection and Intervention programs identify children who are deaf or hard of hearing and get them the support they need to reach language and other developmental milestones.

We fund states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and U.S.-affiliated jurisdictions. We also fund national centers to help awardees carry out this work at the family, provider, and state levels.

HRSA to Release $55 Million in Funding for All Health Center Grantees

In June, HRSA will make available $55 million in one-time fiscal year 2024 funding to all health center grantees.

This Quality Improvement Award funding is intended to support HRSA-funded health centers to prepare for and implement programs and technologies to ensure high-quality, patient-level data submissions as part of the modernization of the Uniform Data System (UDS+).

All Health Center Program operational (H80) grant award recipients are eligible, and awards will be provided directly to grantees. Please visit the Quality Improvement Award: UDS+ webpage for additional information.

Support to Recruit and Retain Quality Providers

Eligible health care facilities can now apply for approval as a National Health Service Corps (NHSC) site.

Eligibility includes health care sites that provide outpatient, ambulatory, and primary health care services (medical, dental, and behavioral health) to populations residing in high-need urban, tribal, and rural areas.

NHSC-approved sites with an inactive status may also apply for approval during the open cycle. Site approval provides access to HRSA’s Health Workforce Connector and virtual job fairs with hundreds of providers.

Applications are due Tuesday, June 25, 11:59 p.m. ET.


2022 Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program AIDS Education and Training Center Program Annual Data Report

HRSA's HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) recently released the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) Program Annual Data Report, 2022.

The RWHAP AETC Program builds the capacity of the HIV workforce through tailored education and training on HIV-related topics, expert clinical consultation, and technical assistance.

From July 2021 through June 2022, the RWHAP regional AETCs conducted 12,226 training events reaching 56,383 unique training participants. The report presents data for training events and event participants reported by the RWHAP AETC Program recipients for the reporting period of July 2017 through June 2022.
