Huawei Technologies has bitten back at America, saying it is ironical that while the US keeps flinging evidence-free charges of spying at the Chinese firm, Washington passed a law last year that makes it possible for it to access data in any branch of an American company located overseas.

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has told 11 telecommunications providers to comply with their obligations that support emergency service across the country.
