The world first learned of the incredible vocal artistry of Cécile McLorin Salvant when she won the prestigious 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. In just under the span of a decade she has evolved from a darling of jazz critics and fans, to a multi GRAMMY® Award winner, to a prescient and fearless voice in music today.

Three masters spanning two generations, OPTIONS features long-time collaborators Revis and Waits, best known for their work together in the acclaimed trio TARBABY with Orrin Evans.
Here they are joined by legendary multireedist Bennie Maupin, whose roster of collaborators is a virtual who’s-who of 20th century jazz giants, including Herbie Hancock as a founding member of the Headhunters, and Miles Davis, appearing on Bitches Brew as well as three other Davis albums. OPTIONS fall 2019 West Coast tour mark the ensemble’s debut performances.

Rising star trombonist and vocalist Natalie Cressman (Trey Anastasio Band) joins Denver pianist Peter John Stoltzman for a Friday night show celebrating their 2019 album release, New Standards Project Vol. 1. Stoltzman has reimagined popular hits of the past 4 decades, from Cindy Lauper’s "Time After Time" to Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy,” Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” and Dave Matthews Band’s “Satellite.” The quartet is rounded out with Venezuelan bass virtuoso Gonzalo Teppa, and top-call drummer Dru Heller.

In his first visit to Colorado, Danilo will bring repertoire from his latest album Da Natureza das Coisas, in addition to traditional choro compositions. He will be accompanied by 7-string guitarist Carlos Moura. Together, the duo will lead the audience on a special musical experience of the “more-often-bright-than-blue” choro, as well as Danilo’s new artistic exploration of the unique sounds of Brazilian music.
