Good Morning, Do! Today is Wednesday, November 27 Last night, even though it's New Moon (nothing visible), it was lighter out than at full moon. It was snowing and urban light pollution was multiplied by the fine snow. By now we have 40 cm (16") of new snow on top of the old snow. And it is still snowing. My truck is stuck on the street. I made it out of my driveway, but the road has problems. As usual, the town's snow plow is stuck somewhere else. Looks like I will have to either buy a complete set of winter tires, or a used 4x4, whichever is cheaper. ____________________________________________________ Today, November 27 in 1889 Curtis P. Brady was issued the first permit to drive an automobile through Central Park in New York City. More of today in history at History ______________________________________________________

Today's Bonehead Award: Florida lawyer Finkelstein was charged with mail fraud, aggravated identity theft obstruction of justice and making false declarations to a court _______________________________________________ If you like the Humor Letter, please vote! _______________________________________________ A human being has a natural desire to have more of a good thing than he needs. --- Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) _______________________________________________ One of our patients wasn't taking any chances. Prior to her operation, she taped notes to her body for the surgeon... "Take your time," "Don't cut yourself," "No need to rush," "Wash your hands..." After surgery, as I helped the patient back into her bed, we discovered a new note taped to her, this one from the doctor, "Has anyone seen my wristwatch?" ________________________________________________` How bad is the economy in California? ___________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Stuart Finkelstein, 65, Davie, Florida Florida lawyer Finkelstein was charged with mail fraud, aggravated identity theft obstruction of justice and making false declarations to a court A Florida-based attorney was busted for fraudulently filing more than 300 lawsuits on his behalf of two clients who had no idea what he was doing and making nearly $1 million in the process, officials said. Stuart Finkelstein, a 65-year-old attorney, lived in the southern town of Davie, Florida, but swindled companies and local establishments in both New York and the Sunshine State out of thousands of dollars from October 2013 to May 2019, according to a Tuesday press release. The embattled attorney allegedly filed more than 300 Americans with Disabilities Act lawsuits through the Southern Districts of New York and Florida seeking injunctive relief and attorney's fees. Finkelstein then settled the cases and ultimately garnered approximately $930,000 in the fraudulent attorney's fees. --------- Weinstein, Epstein, Finkelstein, is there a pattern?
DearWebby's Tech Support Pits From: John Re: ActionCat cards Dear Webby, To whom it may concern, I am writing for my Mom. We love the Action Cat e-cards and send them to each other often. Now for some reason my Mom has now been unable to send or to receive them. We've been sending them for years. Her e-mail address is ******@aol.com Would you please let me know if you have any suggestions as how to fix this problem. Thank you very much. Sincerely, John Dear John ActionCat works just fine. I even sent a test card just now. You can do the same, and send a test card to yourself. http://actioncat.com It is AOL, that doesn't work right. I have no idea why AOL does not allow your mother to receive cards from Actioncat. It is a clean, family safe, non-political site benefitting animal shelters. You can try contacting AOL support, but I doubt that will do more than waste your time. Just set up a Gmail account for your mother. She can still continue to use AOL for her religious or whatever stuff, but at least she will have one reliable email account on the side. Compared to AOL, Gmail is really easy to use, and she will probably slowly migrate everythiing to Gmail. Actioncat is one of the really old card sites and has been running since the mid 90's. Jan has trimmed it down drastically, but there are still lots of cards you can use. Have FUN! DearWebby

A group of women were at a seminar on how to live in a loving relationship with their husbands. The women were asked, "How many of you love your husband?" All the women raised their hands. Then they were asked, "When was the last time you told your husband you loved him?" Some women answered today, a few yesterday, and some couldn't remember. The women were then told to take out their cell phones and text their husband: "I love you, sweetheart." Next the women were instructed to exchange phones with another woman and read aloud the text message they received in response to their message. Below are 12 actual hilarious replies. If you have been married for quite a while, you understand that these replies are a sign of true love....who else would reply in such a succinct and honest way? 1. Who the hell is this? 2. Eh, mother of my children, are you sick or what? 3. Yeah, and I love you too. What's wrong? 4. What now? Did you wreck the car again? 5. I don't understand what you mean? 6. What the hell did you do now? 8. Don't beat about the bush, just tell me how much you need? 9. Am I dreaming? 10. If you don't tell me who this message is actually for, someone will die. 11. I thought we agreed you wouldn't drink during the day. 12. Your mother is coming to stay with us, isn't she?

I spent 20 minutes explaining life insurance options to one of our employees. After reviewing the different plans and monthly deductions, he decided to max out, choosing $100,000 worth of life insurance. But he had one last question. "Now," he said, "what do I have to do to collect the money?" ___________________________________________________ Daily tip from Thriftyfun.com Thriftyfun.com Grow Plants for Gifts I take cuttings of my indoor and outdoor plants and begin new ones in saved plastic planters. These are my "give away" plants. Last week alone, I saved money by being able to use them as "thank you" gifts. Wrap them up in some cellophane with ribbons and they look store bought. ___________________________________________________ There is no reciprocity. Men love women, women love children, children love hamsters. ___________________________________________________ John brought his new colleague, Peter, home for dinner. As they arrived at the door his wife rushed up, threw her arms around John and kissed him passionately. "My goodness", said Peter, "and how long have you been married?" "22 years", replied John. "You must have a fantastic marriage if your wife greets you like that after all those years." "Don't be fooled! She only does it to make the dog jealous." ___________________________________________________ A generously endowed young lady at a major university often got teased by her sorority sisters for being so top-heavy. At a fraternity party, a young man asked her what she would like to drink. "Diet soda, please," she replied. "Oh, you must be the double D." he said. The girl was furious, wondering which of her so-called friends had divulged such personal information. "And just what do you mean by that?" she snapped. Surprised at her angry response, the young man meekly answered, "Oh, you know -- the Designated Driver." __________________________________________________
