Good Morning, Do! Today is Thursday, June 30 Happy Canada Day! Thank you, Mary Ann ! Thanks for the thousands of condolence messages in email and on FB! There was no way I could reply or acknowledge all of them. But I do appreciate each and every one of them! ___________________________________________________ If you can spare a coin, PLEASE hit PayPal with it! ___________________________________________________ Couple Opened Fire On Burger King Workers A Spicy Chicken Sandwich" ___________________________________________________ Today, July 1 in 1867 Canada became an independent dominion. ____________________________________________________ The rule is perfect: in all matters of opinion our adversaries are insane. --- Mark Twain (1835 - 1910) ____________________________________________________ Thanks to Sandie for this report: A hot red convertible with an equally hot woman driver raced by as my husband and his friend stopped to stare. The man tells him, and Saint Peter says, "Oh, we have a lot of your kind here. In fact, we have a special room for all of you, so you can all be together." He leads the man down a long hallway with doors on either side. They pass one door and they hear a bunch of yelling and hollering inside. "Who's in that room?" the man asks. "Oh, those are the holy rollers," says Saint Peter. "They make a lot of noise but they're pretty harmless". They pass by another door which is nearly shaking off its hinges. "Who's in there?" the man asks. "That's the room for the Shakers," replies Saint Peter. Then they approach another door. Saint Peter whispers to the man, "We must be very quiet going past this door. Don't make a sound." They tiptoe past the door and when they get farther down the hallway the man asks Saint Peter who was in that room. "Oh, those are the Catholics. They think they're the only ones up here!" ____________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Tavarus McKinney, 22, Keonna Halliburton, 20, Shelby County, Tennessee, USA Couple Opened Fire On Burger King Workers A Spicy Chicken Sandwich" A Tennessee couple is facing attempted murder charges after they allegedly opened fire at Burger King employees following a dispute over a spicy chicken sandwich, according to a criminal complaint. Police report that Tavarus McKinney, 22, and Keonna Halliburton, 20, got into an argument earlier this month with Burger King workers at a restaurant in Memphis. The duo, cops say, complained that Halliburtons chicken sandwich was too spicy. After the initial altercation, McKinney and Halliburton departed for a few minutes, but returned in their Ford Escape and allegedly fired multiple shots from the road into the parking lot. Two female victims were hit by gunfire, while two other women were also shot at during this time. Pictured above, McKinney and Halliburton were charged after several victims identified them as the assailants in the June 6 shooting. McKinney and Halliburton are both locked up in the Shelby County jail on four counts of attempted murder and four counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. Halliburton is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond, while McKinney has a $1 million bond due to his lengthy rap sheet, which includes collars for aggravated assault, kidnapping, and domestic assault.
DearWebby's tech support pits from: Tony re:What is cloud storage? Dear Webby I keep getting emails, that are trying to make me feel guilty for not using cloud storage. I don't even know what that is, and I doubt that I really need it. What do you recommend? Tony Dear Tony Cloud storage is simply storage on far away servers. If your site is hosted on a small server, that has frequent problems, then you can consider using a huge server farm like Amazon's or Google's or Microsoft's and store your expensive and irreplaceable data there. Just like your pages now look to your web host in your home town, not on your computer, with cloud storage the pictures and data are on a far away huge server. If you consider using cloud storage, check where the cloud is. For example, Alibaba is in GUANGZHOU, China. Depending on how much support you need, you might want to consider a server a bit closer to you. If you don't need off-site storage for your pictures and data, then just dump those emails and make a filter to dump future emails from them. Have FUN! DearWebby
Here follows a tale of an accident report form filed by a bricklayer:

"I put 'poor planning' as the cause of my accident. You ask for a fuller explanation and I trust the following details will be sufficient. I was working alone on the roof of a six-story building. When I completed my work I found I had some bricks left over which later were found to weigh 240lbs. Rather than carry the bricks down by hand, I decided to lower them in a barrel by using a pulley. Securing the rope at ground level, I went up to the roof, swung the barrel out and loaded the bricks into it. Then I went down to the ground and untied the rope, holding it tightly to insure a slow descent of the 240lbs of bricks. You will note on the accident reporting form that my weight is 135lbs.

Needless to say i proceeded at a rapid rate up the side of the building. In the vicinity of the third floor I met the barrel which was proceeding downward at an equally impressive speed. This explains the fractured skull, minor abrasions, and the broken collarbone. Slowed only slightly, I continued my rapid ascent, not stopping until the fingers of my right hand were two knuckles deep in to the pulley.

Fortunately I had regained my presence of mind and was able to hold tightly on to the rope. At approximately the same time, however, the barrel hit the ground and the bottom fell out of the barrel . Now devoid of the weight of the bricks, the barrel weighed approximately 50lbs. I refer you again to my weight.

I began a rapid descent. In the vicinity of the third floor, I met the barrel coming up. This accounts for the two fractured ankles, broken tooth and severe lacerations of my legs and lower body.

Here my luck began to change slightly. The encounter with the barrel seemed to slow me enough to lessen my injuries when i fell onto the pile of bricks and fortunately only three vertebrae were cracked.

I am sorry to report, however, as I lay in pain on the pile of bricks I again lost my composure and presence of mind and let go of the rope and I lay there watching the empty barrel begin its rapid descent back towards me."

A fellow in a bar notices a woman, always alone, come in on a fairly regular basis. After the second week, he made his move. "No thank you." she said politely. "This may sound rather odd in this day and age, but I'm keeping myself pure until I meet the man I love." "That must be rather difficult." the man replied. "Oh, I don't mind too much." she said. "But, it has my husband pretty upset." ___________________________________________ My 10 yr old niece says her prayers every night and instead of amen she says:"Hit ENTER" ____________________________________________ While Kathy is at her friend's house it starts to rain very heavily. Her friend tells her to spend the night at her house and go home the next day. When she hears this, Kathy rushes out the door and comes back a while later totally drenched and carrying a small, soggy paper bag. So her friend asks "Where did you run off too?" "I went home to get my pajamas!" ___________________________________________________
