He said, Up until last week, I still had it all. I had plenty to eat, my clothes were washed and pressed, I had a roof over my head, I had HDTV and Internet, and I went to the gym, the pool, and the library. I was working on my MBA on-line. I had no bills and no debt. I even had full medical benefits coverage. I felt sorry for him, so I asked, What happened? Drugs? Alcohol? Divorce? Oh no, nothing like that, he said. Because of Coronavirus, I was unexpectedly paroled! ____________________________________________________ One morning the door-bell rang. The weather was very bad. It was raining cats and dogs. I opened the door and there stood a young lady, a Jehovah's Witness, soaking wet. I felt sorry for her and invited her in the house for a cup of coffee and to dry off a little. As we were drinking our coffee, I asked what her 'happy message' was. I thought we might discuss some minor or major differences of believes or interpretation, but, she stuttered and said: ..."I'm not sure....I never got this far before...!" ____________________________________________________ The Vasa warship sank at the occasion of her inaugural journey in Stockholm in 1628. "I do wish that my John would stop biting his nails. He makes me terribly nervous." My Fred used to do the same thing," the other woman replied. "But I broke him of the habit." "Really, how?" asked the first woman. "Easy, I hid his teeth." __________________________________________________ An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Jordan Ali, 23, Baltimore, Maryland, USA Grand jury issues 11-count indictment against Baltimore Police trainee who followed women in car A Baltimore grand jury indicted a former Baltimore Police trainee this week, bringing new charges against the officer, who was fired from the department after he was arrested and charged with assault and harassment for allegedly chasing three women and striking their car when they declined to invite him to a party. Jordan Ali, a 23-year-old officer hired in March 2020, was charged last month with three counts of second-degree assault, three counts of harassment and one count of reckless endangerment. Per the grand jurys indictment, Ali was also charged this week with first-degree assault, reckless driving, negligent driving and failure to control speed to avoid a collision, according to the Baltimore States Attorneys Office. The behavior such as that alleged in this indictment is unacceptable and my office will work to ensure accountability and justice on behalf of the victims involved, States Attorney Marilyn Mosby said in a statement. The charges stem from a Feb. 6 incident reported by three women who said that Ali, while off-duty, pulled up alongside them in his personal vehicle as they sat in another car at a red light. The women told Ali they were on their way to a party. After they declined to invite him multiple times, the women said Ali followed their car at a high rate of speed and caused minor damage to the rear bumper when he allegedly struck the vehicle from behind. According to the States Attorneys Office, the woman driving the vehicle exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour to evade Ali, fearing for her and her friends safety. Ali, in his pursuit, drove over 100 miles per hour, drove the wrong way into oncoming traffic and avoided and ignored traffic control signals, officials said. The women pulled into a Royal Farms about 4 miles away from the initial incident and Ali got out of his car to approach them, investigators wrote. One of the women, whom The Baltimore Sun is not naming, told investigators that Ali displayed a fake FBI badge and said, Freeze. Officials said Ali challenged her to get out of her car to look at Alis identification in his own car. When she did not, Ali got out of his car, approached the drivers side of the other vehicle, lifted his shirt and motioned towards a firearm tucked inside of his pants at his waist. The women fled to the Johns Hopkins Bayview Emergency Room while still being followed by Ali, taking shelter in an ambulance before calling 911 and stating they were in fear of their lives, according to charging documents. Ali reportedly told arriving officers at the scene he was pursuing what he thought was a stolen vehicle and that he observed them smoking something that could have been illegal. He later admitted to interviewers he had broken several traffic laws in the process while following the women. He did not make any attempt to call 911 or notify on-duty officers, according to charging documents. Ali faces up to 55 years in prison and $5,500 in fines if convicted of all charges. She hunted for a book in the airport shops, Bought a bag of cookies and found a place to drop. She was engrossed in her book but happened to see, That the man sitting beside her, as bold as could be. Grabbed a cookie or two from the bag in between, Which she tried to ignore to avoid a scene. So she munched the cookies and watched the clock, As the gutsy cookie thief diminished her stock. She was getting more irritated as the minutes ticked by, Thinking, "If I wasn't so nice, I would blacken his eye." With each cookie she took, he took one too, When only one was left, she wondered what he would do. With a smile on his face, and a nervous laugh, He took the last cookie and broke it in half. He offered her half, as he ate the other, She snatched it from him and thought...oooh, brother. This guy has some nerve and he's also rude, Why he didn't even show any gratitude! She had never known when she had been so galled, And sighed with relief when her flight was called. She gathered her belongings and headed to the gate, Refusing to look back at that thieving ingrate. She boarded the plane, and sank in her seat, Then sought her book, which was almost complete. As she reached in her baggage, she gasped with surprise, There was her bag of cookies, in front of her eyes. If mine are here, she moaned with despair, The others were his, and he tried to share. Too late to apologize, she realized with grief, That she was the rude one, the ingrate, the thief. ____________________________________________ Ophelia Dingbatter's NewsNo sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups.
