The tree is also instructed to place, in writing, any comments or objections.it has. It was placed on the trunk when delivered. And what say the locals? ''Perhaps the council is listening to Prince Charles too much.'' This year alone, about 840 trees have received the letter. UK Mirror ____________________________________________________ Reported by Rock An INTERNATIONAL BONEHEAD AWARD has been earned by Monica Bradford, 35, Buda, Texas, USA Arrested for pointing a loaded gun at seven-year-old who was trick-or-treating on her street on Halloween. A Buda woman was arrested after authorities say she pulled a gun on a young child who was trick-or-treating outside her home on Quarter Avenue. Hays County deputies say 35-year-old Monica Bradford pointed the weapon at a 7-year-old on Halloween night. "I was in shock. Its Halloween, there are kids everywhere, how can somebody just come out with a weapon and scare these kids," said neighbor Connie Medina. Neighbors tell FOX 7 Austin that Bradford had her front light on, that it looked like her house was open for trick or treaters, and were told the father and his kids were at the end of Bradfords driveway when things quickly escalated. Thankfully the child was not hurt, as police quickly rushed into this normally quiet neighborhood. "There were cops at the end of our street. They stopped us and said nobodys allowed to go down this street, theres an incident with a gun involved," said one neighbor who lives across the street. Police were able to make contact peacefully with Bradford but were prepared for the worst. "Some had guns drawn, some just had their rifles at the ready," said the neighbor. Bradford was taken into custody and brought to the Hays County Jail, but neighbors say this isnt the first time police have been at the home in question. Bradford is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Her bond was set at $10,000, and were told she has since posted that bond. She is expected to appear in court at a later date. ____________________________________________________ If you can help with the cost of the Humor Letter, please donate what you can! ______________________________________________________ From: Moosey Re: Hubble Dear Webby, I read that the Hubble space telescope had a permanent computer crash. Is that true? Will they be able to replace the computer or just retire it when the James Webb Space telescope is sent up there in December? Dear Moosey They are working on fixing the synchro problem. They had problems with that since the 1990s. It is not just one computer up there, but stacks of them, and as parts of them die, they switch tasks to different machines. That makes fixing a real nightmare. What complicates things is that some of the functions are now handled by computers on earth. What further complicates it is that it zips around the earth in a really low orbit, like the original Sputnik in about 95 minutes. That means up/downloading has to be completed in 15 - 20 minutes. The same goes for any fixing work. It is anybody's guess whether they will be able to fix it before the new James Webb telescope goes up there in December, and how well that one will work. Just be patient. They will figure something out. Have FUN! DearWebby

A patient was waiting nervously in the examination room of a famous specialist. "So who did you see before coming to me?" asked the doctor. "My local General Practitioner." "Your GP?" scoffed the doctor. "What a waste of time. Tell me, what sort of useless advice did he give you?" "He told me to come and see you." ______________________________________________ Bambi, a young lady sidled up to a guest at the party. She had heard him addressed as doctor and now she said diffidently, "Doctor, may I ask a question?" "Certainly," he said. "Lately," said Bambi, "I have been having a funny pain right here over my heart..." The guest interrupted uncomfortably and said, "I'm terribly sorry, Bambi, but the truth is, I'm a doctor of philosophy." "Oh," said Bambi, "I'm sorry!" She turned away, but then overcome with curiosity, she turned back. "Just one more question, doctor. Tell me, what kind of disease is philosophy?" ______________________________________________

A friend and I were driving to the mall when we came to a bridge under construction. The road narrowed to one lane, with a red light at either end. We stopped at the red light at on our side and when it turned green we started up again. Halfway through we met another car coming towards us. The driver leaned out his window and shouted, "I don't back up for idiots!" Putting his car into reverse, my friend called back, "No problem. I know how to do that." ___________________________________________________
