In the humor category, which dominated yesterday's releases, we have:

In the much smaller heartfelt category:

And in the space category, one brand stands alone:

  • Shift4 Payments founder Jared Isaacman wants to send someone to space. I mean that's it. That's the ad. They're telling 100 million people they're going to pick someone and send them to space.

Inside Amazon’s Transfer of Power

While Jeff Bezos is stepping away from his role as Amazon CEO, he will still have a significant place in the company. He'll serve as a guiding voice on "large, one-way issues." The translation here: When Amazon is thinking about snapping up a new company to expand its empire, Bezos is going to get his say.

Amazon was prepared for this: The story explains Amazon's power structure, which grooms capable replacements ready to step in when a leader steps down.

What can marketers learn? This opinion piece details how Bezos stepping down can also serve as a rebrand opportunity for Amazon.

Amazon earnings: Oh by the way, Amazon also released its Q4 earnings and business is as good as ever. Revenue skyrocketed, including its advertising services. See the gains for yourself with our handy guide on what you need to know about Amazon's earnings.

Speaking of advertising: Programmatic editor Ronan Shields is forecasting a showdown between Amazon and Google. These freight trains are about to collide and it ain't going to be pretty.

Publicis Groupe's 2020 Organic Growth Decline of -6.3% Beats Expectations

When is being down 6% a good thing? When experts think you're headed for losses of 7% or worse. Even better, Publicis reported an organic growth decline of -3.9% for Q4, ahead of analyst consensus at -6.7%.

What it means: It's a good sign the industry can recover in 2021, and it's even better news for Publicis management—6,000 managers are getting back pay after voluntarily taking pay cuts.
