This Church required women to wear a head covering in order to enter the sanctuary. One Sunday a lady arrived without her head covering. The priest told her that she could not enter without one. A few moments later, the lady re-appeared wearing her blouse tied to her head. The shocked priest says, "Madam, I cannot allow you to enter this holy place without you wearing your blouse properly." "But Father, I have a divine right," she says. "Yes, I see that," he says. And your left one is just as divine, so, come on in!" ____________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________ During the "rush hour" at Houston's Hobby Airport, a flight was delayed due to a mechanical problem. Since they needed the gate for another flight, the aircraft was backed away from the gate while the maintenance crew worked on it. The passengers were then told the new gate number, which was some distance away. Everyone moved to the new gate, only to find a third gate had been designated for them. After some further shuffling, everyone got on board, and as they were settling in, the flight attendant made the standard announcement, "We apologize for the inconvenience of this last-minute gate change. This flight is going to Washington, D.C. If your destination is not Washington, D.C., then you should 'deplane' at this time." A very confused-looking and red-faced pilot emerged from the cockpit, carrying his bags. "Sorry," he said, wrong plane." ____________________________________________________ According to a recent survey, men say the first thing they notice about a woman is their eyes. "The company where I work is putting in a computer system and it is going to put a lot of people out of work. Have they started that over where you work?" "Oh," said his friend, "We've been on computers for more than five years but they can't replace me. Nobody has been able to figure out exactly what I do." ______________________________________________ Re the church attire.... ===from Deacon Jerry Then, there was the young woman who was always tardy. But she dressed in the latest styles. As she was running up to the church just as people were starting to leave she panted: "Is - M ass out?" One of the Ladies society members replied: "No, not quite, but your skirt is mighty short and it might be if you run." ______________________________________________ Ophelia Dingbatter's NewsNo sermon and not suitable for church, just jokes and fun for grownups. I followed your instructions on a stick of deodorant to the letter: 'Take Off Top, Push Up Bottom', and was left semi-naked in some not inconsiderable pain. And it didn't help my perspiring. Now I understand my error, but it's time that the writers of these instructions take responsibility for the resulting actions. The slogan on the front - 'Sure Wont Let You Down', was correct, I was unable to sit down all morning. ___________________________________________________ Today, April 19, in 1012, Aelfheah was murdered by Danes who had been ravaging the south of England.
