His first sermon ran only 8 minutes; the second Sunday he spoke for 45 minutes; the third week he rattled on for an hour-and-a-half. That was enough for the Board to summon him for a little chat. To their relief, the preacher had a ready explanation. "The Saturday before the first sermon, I had my teeth pulled and my mouth was still terribly sore. But, by the time a week had gone by, I'd gotten used to my new dentures." Here the minister paused, and blushed deeply. "And as for last Sunday, well, I'm afraid that I picked up my wife's set of teeth by mistake!" ______________________________________________________ A husband visited a marriage counselor and said, "When we were first married, I would come home from the office, my wife would bring my slippers and our cute little dog would run around barking. Now after ten years it's all changed. I come home, the dog brings the slippers and my wife runs around barking." "Why complain?" said the counselor, "You're still getting the same service!" ___________________________________________________ PraseQuartz-Greece Bonnie, try this URL http://webby.com/humor/i/PraseQuartz-Greece-L.jpg ____________________________________________________ Doug had always been teased by his friends that his wife was more successful than he was. Some even went so far as to insinuate that he was overshadowed by her and henpecked. Doug had a sense of humor and always laughed it off. One day, one of his fiends asked the tiresome question AGAIN, "Who wears the pants in your family?" "I do," replied Doug. Then, after a pause, he added, "I also wash and iron them." ____________________________________________________ Great Egret, Southern Alberta ____________________________________________________ >From Barb To help save the economy, Pelosi will announce next month that ICE will start deporting seniors instead of illegals in order to lower Social Security and Medicare costs. Police say a suspect accused of shooting and killing a man in a Chandler neighborhood has been arrested. A neighbor thinks he was shooting at anything that moved. According to police, officers responded to a shooting just before 5 p.m. on April 3 near Hunt Highway and Cooper Road and found a 58-year-old man who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man was not identified. "He was in his vehicle with his wife and had stopped to check their mail when confronted by the suspect, who opened fire on them," police said. The victim's wife was not hurt and dialed 911. The suspect, 31-year-old Channing Vanderbilt, stayed at the scene and was "behaving as a bystander" when police arrived. He was arrested. Police said Vanderbilt lives near where the shooting took place. Police said officers responded to a call nearby earlier the same day after a resident reported that someone had shot at his block wall. There were no witnesses to the shooting and no evidence was found, but investigators are working to determine if it is related to the deadly shooting. Ina Dear Ina Toner is dirt cheap, cheaper than compost. Companies like Chuck's Samsung, or Canon, throw printers at you for little more than shipping cost, and then try to rip you off with the toner. To prevent you from refilling cartridges with cheap bulk toner, they put memory chips into the toner cartridges to identify them and to count the number of pages printed. Your cartridge might still be 3/4 full, but have reached the allowed number of pages, forcing you to buy a new cartridge. Plain extortion. To get around the extortion, some companies sell chips, that have been zeroed. Samsung, Canon, etc. of course know about that, and try to defeat the use of zeroed chips. Sometimes you are lucky with zeroed chips, sometimes you are not. I gave up gambling on them and just buy cartridges from reasonably reputable dealers, who have tested chips already included.
