Somewhat overlooked in the sudden fall of Afghanistan to the Taliban was President Joe Bidens recent request to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries and Russia to increase oil exports to the United States. That would be the same Biden who cancelled the Canada- U.S. Keystone XL pipeline on his first day in office, while pursuing an anti-oil agenda which has U.S. oil producers and investors spooked. Bidens strategy was first to curtail the flow of oil from a reliable ally, Canada, which supplies most of the imported oil, and which is "on tap". The US can draw as much as they want. There is no limit. Second, pursue policies that depress the U.S. oil sector in favour of green energy sources, like wind and solar power, which are not really ready for prime time. Third, make up the difference by begging for more foreign oil from the consortium of nations making up OPEC, plus Russia, which are not exactly Americas cheerleaders around the world. Bidens appeal to OPEC and Russia for more oil production was delivered by his national security advisor, Jake Sullivan. To little surprise, OPEC and Russia rejected Bidens appeal, arguing it is unnecessary and that it would damage their economies which they are not interested in doing. As Alberta Premier Jason Kenney tweeted, the same US administration that retroactively cancelled Canadas Keystone XL Pipeline is now pleading with OPEC & Russia to produce & ship more crude oil. Indeed, and it means that Biden is just one more politician who doesnt understand you cant eliminate the need for oil by waving a magic wand. The real problem is that his speech writers know that taxes on fuel depend on the fuel price at the pump, and cheap Canadian fuel brings in Billions less tax revenue than expensive Moslem fuel. It's not religion, just money. ____________________________________________________ If you can help with the cost of the Humor Letter, please donate what you can! ______________________________________________________ From: Doug Re: Old Style wrenches Dear Webby, I know Canada has gone decimal a long time ago, but you are known to be a handyman. All of my wrenches are now metric too, because all my vehicles for the last ten years have been metric. Now I am supposed to fix dad's car, and it has the nuts and bolts in the old system. Where do I find tools in that system? Doug Dear Doug You did not tell me where you are, but I bet if you look on the net for SnapOn, they will show you a link to your state. There you can find a SnapOn dealer in your area, who will cheerfully drive up to your place and invite you into his big truck to browse around. Tell him what you need. He will have it in stock, old style and new style. SnapOn tools are not the cheapest, but they are life-time guaranteed. If a tool breaks or wears out, he will replace it just as cherfully as if you were buying a new one. I have a lot of good memories using SnapOn tools for decades! Have FUN! However, when nobody lived up to that rumor and provided her with any sexual harrassment, she sued the Transit authority that having to worry about getting sexually harrassed or not, was a form of sexual harrassment and caused her to gain weight. She was originally awarded $60 000, however last Wednesday the Second Circuit Court of Appeals threw out the jury award and reversed a lower court judge's ruling supporting it. As of now, not getting sexual harrassment is not a form of sexual harrassment. ____________________________________________ "When you exit this vehicle, please lower your head and watch your step.
