NATIONAL: AI-powered event and matchmaking platform Swapcard has been selected as the official virtual platform for SXSW Online and SXSW EDU 2021, taking place March 16-20. The platform will be used to deliver interactive livestreamed sessions, along with matchmaking, video calls, virtual booths, live Q&A and chat features, and networking opportunities.

AUSTIN: The new 31-story Austin Marriott Downtown opened March 4. The 613-room hotel offers an 18,000-square-foot exhibit hall featuring floor-to-ceiling windows, two 14,000-square-foot ballrooms and multiple dining options.

FLORENCE, SC: Hotel Florence, a boutique hotel located in the heart of historic downtown Florence, has debuted new interior renovations and converted to a Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel. The property has 2,900 square feet of meeting and event space.

MIAMI/SOUTH FLORIDA: “Beyond Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience” is coming to Miami’s Ice Palace on April 15. The exhibition, created by Mathieu St-Arnaud and the team at Montreal’s Normal Studio, features projections of more than 300 of Vincent van Gogh’s iconic artworks.

ORLANDO/CENTRAL FLORIDA: Tampa-based Epicurean Hotel recently announced the appointment of Shawn Routten as general manager and Adam Hyatt as executive chef of the 137-room boutique hotel. The food-focused property has 5,200 square feet of flexible
event space.
