On the first day of televised impeachment hearings, Ambassador William Taylor says one of his staffers overheard President Donald Trump ask Ambassador Gordon Sonland about "the investigations" in a phone call [NBC News].

The phone call in question further ties President Trump to the effort to pressure Ukraine to investigate his political rivals [Politico].

Several more witnesses are slated to appear before the House Intelligence Committee in the coming days [AP].

A new poll shows most voters say there is little to no chance the impeachment hearings will change their minds about President Trump [Politico].

North Korea is threatening to resume long-range missile or nuclear tests ahead of a self-imposed deadline to restart nuclear talks with the U.S. [Washington Post].

Two of President Trump's most vocal defenders, Joe diGenova and Victory Toensing, floated a bonkers conspiracy theory on Fox News Wednesday night, baselessly alleging left-wing billionaire George Soros controls a large part of the State Department and the FBI [Mediaite].

The Zions Bank Wasatch Front Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained essentially unchanged from September to October on a non-seasonally adjusted basis. Year over year, the Wasatch Front Consumer Price Index has grown 2.9%, while the national Consumer Price Index has increased 1.8% since October of last year.
