Good morning and thanks for joining us. Here are some of today's top headlines.
Francine's arrival: There's really only one story today, the arrival of Hurricane Francine. Landfall is expected early this afternoon near Morgan City, and communities throughout the region have been preparing. Hospitals activated their emergency plans, the sheriff's office staffed up at the Orleans Parish jail and moved some prisoners out, and people lined up for storm supplies. We also have dispatches from the River Parishes, which has fresh memories of Hurricane Ida, along with Jefferson and St. Tammany.
Thanks for reading. You can keep up with the latest developments, including early morning updates on the Francine's progress, at our hurricane center. Chad |
