Hurricane Ian’s devastation touches Minnesota
Minnesota is more than a thousand miles from Florida, where Hurricane Ian is lashing the Gulf Coast today with torrential rains and damaging winds. But the devastating storm is impacting current and former Minnesotans who either live in Florida, or are heading there to help with recovery efforts.

The Current, Walker Art Center announce end to Rock the Garden
The Walker Art Center and MPR News sister station The Current on Wednesday announced they're ending the annual Rock the Garden music festival in Minneapolis. The statement didn't elaborate on reasons for the decision to end the festival.

The two candidates running for Minnesota Attorney General have prioritized vastly different issues in the 2022 race. They can’t even agree on the mission of the Office. Incumbent Keith Ellison, 59, is highlighting abortion rights to Minnesota voters while his Republican opponent Jim Schultz, 37, counters that the election is about reducing crime across the state.
Ramsey County prints ballots with recently deceased candidate's name
Ramsey County elections officials are asking the state Supreme Court to step in after the name of a recently deceased Republican candidate was printed on ballots for a St. Paul state legislative race.
 
Torrent of money is unleashed across Minnesota campaigns
DFL Gov. Tim Walz entered the final six weeks with about $3.2 million available to spend after spending slightly more than that between mid July and mid September. His Republican opponent, former state Sen. Scott Jensen, had about $865,000 at the ready after sending nearly twice that much out the door in the preceding two months.
15-year-old boy charged in connection to shooting outside Richfield football game
The sound of gunfire at about 8:45 p.m. Friday during the football game’s fourth quarter sent players and fans running to evacuate Spartan Stadium. The Richfield school district canceled all weekend activities in response to the gunfire.
