Hydrogen is one of the low carbon energy solutions that will be critical for the UK's transition to net zero. A fundamental understanding of hydrogen's physical properties and key behaviours is key to safely developing and deploying it as a net zero energy vector. Our course,Hydrogen: The Fundamentals, is based on HSEs 20 years of experimental hydrogen safety research. It is designed for those already working or looking to work with hydrogen so that they can understand how it may behave differently to incumbent fuels and how they might need to engineer for those differences. The course will provide foundation knowledge and give examples of risks and control measures when using hydrogen to enable delegates to understand and identify the hazards it could pose to their own environments and intended uses. |
Available course dates: 12 December 2023 | HSE Science and Research Centre, Buxton | 6 to 7 February 2024 | Live online | 14 March 2024 | HSE Science and Research Centre, Buxton | 675 per person | | In March 2023 HSE organised Safe Net Zero 2023 Hydrogen, a two-day conference that brought together over 100 delegates to connect, share knowledge and gain insight into the safe development and deployment of innovative hydrogen technologies. Safety was the underpinning theme for the event, with a comprehensive programme covering: Industrial clusters, hydrogen production and use Applications in aviation International hydrogen safety topics Applications in maritime Liquid fuels and systems If you missed it, you haven't missed out: the conference was recorded and can now be purchased to watch on-demand. |
