I-10 project will ease the squeeze on drivers during construction

Drivers in the Baton Rouge area who regularly traverse Interstate 10 will catch a break during the ongoing construction project on the busy highway.

Instead of leading to lane closures, the second phase of the work to widen I-10 will leave all three lanes open in each direction when it begins in early 2026, according to the Department of Transportation and Development.

The long-anticipated project aims to ease the notorious traffic bottleneck where Interstate 110 and I-10 merge. 


The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday to vote on whether to renew the contract for Superintendent Sito Narcisse.

Under the new deal, Narcisse would get a $55,000 pay raise that would make him one of the highest-paid school superintendents in Louisiana.

The contract would keep Narcisse in charge in Baton Rouge schools until Dec. 31, 2027. 


LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has rushed for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns this season and has five of the 10 games with the most yards rushing by a QB in LSU history.
