Six Flags: The effort to redevelop the long-dormant Six Flags site in New Orleans East has taken a big step forward. Now, Bayou Phoenix, the development group promising big plans for the site, will get to work, Stephanie Riegel reports.
Crash victims named: The IDs of seven people killed in that horrific, 158-vehicle crash atop the elevated I-55 spans earlier this week were released this morning. Alex Lubben and Michelle Hunter have the details.

Mike who? Rep. Mike Johnson of Louisiana became speaker of the House this week, but isn’t very well known even in parts of the Pelican State.
